THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN TAUNTON HAS EXTENDED THE

* FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  SOUTHWESTERN WASHINGTON COUNTY IN  RHODE ISLAND...

* UNTIL 730 PM EDT FRIDAY

* AT 515 AM EDT...MINOR FLOODING WAS OCCURRING ALONG THE PAWCATUCK 
  RIVER IN WESTERLY. THE LATEST STAGE WAS 7.4 FEET...WHICH IS ABOVE 
  ITS FLOOD STAGE OF 7 FEET. THE RIVER IS EXPECTED TO CREST NEAR 7.7 
  FEET THIS AFTERNOON...BUT WILL REMAIN IN MINOR FLOOD THROUGH THE 
  WEEKEND.

  WHEN THE PAWCATUCK APPROACHES 8 FEET...FLOODING AFFECTS THE LOWEST 
  LYING HOMES ALONG HISCOX ROAD IN WESTERLY. FLOODING ALSO AFFECTS
  SOME HOMES IN FRENCH VILLAGE IN HOPKINTON.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

BE ALERT FOR RISING WATER IF YOU LIVE IN AN AREA PRONE TO FLOODING 
FROM THE PAWCATUCK RIVER. DO NOT DRIVE THROUGH FLOODED ROADS. FIND 
ALTERNATE ROUTES.
