...TWO LARGE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM COMPLEXES MOVE ACROSS WESTERN AND 
NORTH CENTRAL NEBRASKA FRIDAY NIGHT...

A POTENT UPPER LEVEL LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM COMBINED WITH A VERY 
UNSTABLE ATMOSPHERE TO PRODUCE WIDESPREAD SEVERE WEATHER ACROSS 
WESTERN AND NORTH CENTRAL NEBRASKA FRIDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING. THE 
RESULT WAS DAMAGING STRAIGHT LINE WINDS...ESTIMATED TO BE AS HIGH AS 
100 MPH ACROSS PORTIONS OF HAYES COUNTY...THAT KNOCKED DOWN POWER 
LINES AND SNAPPED TREES ACROSS PORTIONS OF SOUTHWEST NEBRASKA INTO 
CENTRAL AND NORTH CENTRAL PORTIONS OF THE STATE. SEVERAL REPORTS OF 
WINDS OF 50 TO 70 MPH WERE RECEIVED FROM THE SOUTHWEST PORTION OF 
NEBRASKA NORTHWARD TO NEAR THE SOUTH DAKOTA BORDER. 

IN ADDITION...HAIL TO THE SIZE OF PING PONG BALLS WAS REPORTED IN 
ROSCOE. ALONG WITH THE SEVERE WEATHER...VERY HEAVY RAINFALL WAS 
REPORTED IN PORTIONS OF KEITH AND ARTHUR COUNTIES CAUSING SOME 
VEHICLES TO BE STRANDED IN THE OGALLALA AREA...AND WATER OVER 
ROADWAYS IN A FEW LOCATIONS.
