...UPDATE ON PRELIMINARY STORM SURVEYS FOR AREAS OF SOUTHEAST 
ALABAMA AND SOUTHWEST GEORGIA...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE OFFICE IN TALLAHASSEE FL SURVEYED 
SEVERAL AREAS OF DAMAGE TODAY FROM THE SEVERE STORMS ON TUESDAY, 
APRIL 5. IN SOUTHEAST ALABAMA, AT LEAST THREE TORNADOES OCCURRED: 
ONE IN MALVERN, ONE IN REHOBETH, AND ONE IN COWARTS. PRELIMINARY 
FINDINGS FOR ALL THREE SOUTHEAST ALABAMA TORNADOES INDICATE DAMAGE 
CONSISTENT WITH EF1 INTENSITY. IN SOUTHWEST GEORGIA, THREE TORNADOES 
OCCURRED: ONE ALONG THE EARLY/MILLER COUNTY LINE, ONE SOUTHEAST OF 
BLAKELY IN EARLY COUNTY, AND ONE IN MITCHELL COUNTY. PRELIMINARY 
FINDINGS FOR ALL THREE SOUTHWEST GEORGIA TORNADOES INDICATE DAMAGE 
CONSISTENT WITH EF1 INTENSITY. MORE DETAILED PRELIMINARY STORM 
SURVEYS WILL BE RELEASED ON FRIDAY, APRIL 8. 

FOR THE SEVERE STORMS ON WEDNESDAY, APRIL 6, THE NATIONAL WEATHER 
SERVICE IN PEACHTREE CITY GA SURVEYED DAMAGE IN LEE COUNTY NEAR THE 
SUMTER COUNTY LINE IN SOUTHWEST GA. PRELIMINARY FINDINGS INDICATE 
ONE TORNADO OCCURRED WITH EF1 INTENSITY. A MORE DETAILED PRELIMINARY 
STORM SURVEY WILL BE RELEASED BY FRIDAY, APRIL 8.

FINALLY, THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE OFFICE IN TALLAHASSEE FL WILL 
CONDUCT STORM SURVEYS ON FRIDAY, APRIL 8 IN AREAS OF SOUTHWEST 
GEORGIA, INCLUDING THOMAS, BROOKS, AND LOWNDES COUNTIES IMPACTED 
BY SEVERE STORMS ON WEDNESDAY, APRIL 6, WITH PRELIMINARY RESULTS 
TO FOLLOW.
